
Lexi Whyte
Biography
Lexi attended The Karen Pryor Academy for the Professional Dog Training Program, Puppy Start Right, Better Vet Visits, and Canine Freestyle; graduating with distinction. Lexi is a Certified Dog Trainer and Certified Training Partner (KPA-CTP) with The Karen Pryor Academy. The Karen Pryor Academy is a science-based program that teaches students how to shape and capture behaviours, using methods designed by scientists such as Pavlov and B.F. Skinner.
Lexi also graduated from the Michael Shikashio CDBC Aggression in Dogs Master Course. This course is the most comprehensive course available for working in aggression. Lexi is a Certified Dog Trainer through The International Positive Dog Training Association (IPDTA-CDT). This certification proves that Lexi has the written and practical skills necessary for working with both basic obedience and behaviour modification without the use of threat, intimidation, fear, or pain.
She is a Certified Trick Dog Instructor (CTDI) through Do More with Your Dog. This course allows Lexi to judge tricks and give titles that are recognized by the Canadian Kennel Club and the American Kennel Club. In addition, Lexi is a supporting member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and The International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants.
Lexi was a professional dancer and has danced with Alberta Ballet, where she has had a lead role in The Nutcracker for three years in a row. She uses the skills she acquired through dancing to teach our dogs and handlers how to dance with their dogs and enjoy canine freestyle.
