Puppy/Nursery
About this course
About this class
Attending a well-run puppy socialization class may be the single most important thing you can do to ensure your puppy’s proper behavioural development. A bad experience or lack of experience during the first four months of a puppy’s life can lead to difficult behaviour problems for a lifetime. Those may include fear, anxiety, and even aggression
At On Cue, we have a heart for dogs of all ages, but we are extremely happy when we get to set up a puppy and his new family for a lifetime of success and love.
The Importance of Play
The nursery class provides a controlled and safe environment in which your puppy will be exposed to new stimuli, including other dogs and people. Through safe, social play, puppies learn how to appropriately interact and play with each other. Just like children, play teaches them valuable skills. Puppies need opportunities to play with other puppies of different breeds and sizes to develop normal canine communication skills. Puppies who do not start socializing and playing early on may not learn appropriate social skills, may be incapable of play later, and may develop fear of other dogs, as well as aggressive tendencies.
Puppy Kindergarten
A strong beginning as a puppy leads to a happy, well-adjusted life as a dog. Puppy kindergarten is designed to teach you and your puppy about normal canine behaviour, development, and communication. As a new dog owner, you will be introduced to positive reinforcement training and learn how to apply loving techniques when addressing common puppy-training issues.
Our puppy kindergarten class provides a controlled and safe environment in which to meet new dogs and people while being exposed to various environmental stimuli. Through this social play in kindergarten, your puppy will learn how to communicate and interact with other puppies.
